SEATTLE, April 25 (UPI) -- Bret Boone delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth and Jamie Moyer pitched six innings Thursday night as the Seattle Mariners rallied for their 10th win in 12 games, 4-2 over the Cleveland Indians.
A late replacement for Brian Anderson, Indians rookie Billy Traber (0-2) gave up two hits and took a 2-1 lead into the fifth. After retiring Willie Bloomquist, the 23-year-old lefthander gave up a single to Dan Wilson, walked Ichiro Suzuki and was replaced by Jose Santiago.
A groundout by Randy Winn moved both runners into scoring position and Boone followed with a single up the middle on a 3-1 pitch to put Seattle in front for good. Boone had been none for eight on the Mariners' six-game homestand.
Moyer (3-1) made the lead stand. Making his first start after recording his 100th win in a Seattle uniform, the veteran lefthander allowed two runs and six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Giovanni Carrara and Shigetoshi Hasegawa each pitched a scoreless inning before Jeff Nelson struck out two in the ninth for his first save of the season. Nelson and lefthander Arthur Rhodes are filling in for injured closer Kazuhiro Sasaki.
