MILWAUKEE, April 4 (UPI) -- J.T. Snow drove in two runs with an infield single to snap an eighth-inning tie Friday, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 7-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Milwaukee fell to 0-4.

With the Giants trailing by a run, Jose Cruz Jr. smacked a one-out homer off Brewers reliever Luis Vizcaino (0-1) to tie it at 5-5. Rich Aurilia followed with a single and Barry Bonds was intentionally walked. Vizcaino then walked Edgardo Alfonzo to load the bases before striking out Benito Santiago.

Shane Nance was brought in to face Snow, who hit a line drive that shortstop Royce Clayton leaped to catch, but the ball popped out of the top of his glove. Clayton tried to snag the ball on his way down but failed, allowing two runs to score.

Snow finished three for four with four RBI. His two-run single in the third inning was his 1,200th career hit and gave the Giants a 3-1 lead.

Wes Helms brought Milwaukee within 3-2 with an RBI single in the fourth but Bonds' second home run of the season restored San Francisco's two-run lead.

The Brewers took the lead with three solo homers in the sixth.

Richie Sexson's leadoff shot pulled the Brewers within 4-3. One out later, Jeffrey Hammonds and Helms delivered consecutive homers to put Milwaukee ahead.

Jim Brower (1-0) tossed a scoreless seventh to earn the win and Todd Worrell struck out two in the ninth for his third save.

The Giants have won their first four games for the second straight season. They won their first six games last season, which was their best start since the franchise moved from New York following the 1957 season.

Milwaukee, which had a three-game Opening Day winning streak stopped, has lost its first four games for the second time in three years.
