Milwaukee 97, Seattle 91

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Ray Allen scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter Thursday night, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 97-91 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.

Allen made four of his five three-pointers in the final period, including three in the last 6 1/2 minutes. Milwaukee never trailed after Allen's third three-pointer snapped a 77-77 tie with 6:26 remaining.

Tim Thomas added 18 points for the Bucks, who improved to 3-2 on a season-high eight-game homestand and beat the Sonics for just the fifth time in the last 21 meetings.

Gary Payton scored 27 points for Seattle, which was coming off a 114-74 loss in Boston, the fourth-worst setback in team history. The Sonics completed an 0-3 road trip.

Milwaukee point guard Sam Cassell surpassed 9,900 career points in the first quarter.
