Texas 89, Texas A&M 61

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- T.J. Ford scored a career-high 25 points and freshman Brad Buckman grabbed 12 rebounds Saturday night as fourth-ranked Texas paid back Texas A&M with an 89-61 Big 12 Conference runaway.

Texas (12-2, 3-0 Big 12) improved to 35-2 against intrastate opponents in coach Rick Barnes' four-plus seasons. One of the defeats was an 80-74 loss to Texas A&M here last season that ended a 16-game skid in the series.

Jason Klotz scored a career-high 15 points as Texas won its seventh straight and improved to 8-0 at home.

The Longhorns took the lead for good on Royal Ivey's jumper with just over nine minutes remaining. That triggered an 18-1 run that featured seven points by Ford for a 30-12 cushion.

Texas A&M (9-5, 1-2) was led by Bernard King's 16 points. King poured in 30 in the Aggies' victory over Texas last season.
