Defenseman Roman Hamrlik picked up the lone assist on the game-winner. Earlier in the night, he was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team.

Alexei Yashin and defenseman Kenny Jonsson also scored for the Islanders, who were playing their third road game in four nights. They were coming off Wednesday night's 5-0 loss in New Jersey.

The Islanders looked tired over the final 22 minutes, allowing Pavol Demitra to tie it at 2-2 with 3:51 left in regulation. St. Louis held a 12-4 advantage in shots in the third period.

Cory Stillman also scored for the Blues, who were coming off a 3

1-1 road trip.
