NEW YORK, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Drew Bledsoe were named Thursday as the NFL Offensive Players of the Month.

McNabb completed 92 of 150 passes for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns with three interceptions for a 92.2 passer rating. He also rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

"With Donovan, it's like I have a coach out on the field who can take control and get the offense moving in the right direction," said Eagles coach Andy Reid.

Bledsoe has passed for an NFL-high 1,345 yards in four games with the Buffalo Bills.

Acquired in an offseason trade from New England, Bledsoe has completed 70.3 percent of his passes and 10 touchdowns with two interceptions for a rating of 109.8.

"We're focused on one thing and I'm focused on one thing: to continue to improve as a player," said Bledsoe, who earned his second AFC Player of the Month award. "We're starting to develop some confidence as a team - confidence that we can play with anybody in the league."

Linebacker Junior Seau of the San Diego Chargers and safety Rod Woodson of the Oakland Raiders were named as NFC Co-Defensive Players of the Month.

Seau has been the spark for San Diego's defense, which is ranked first in the AFC. In his 13th NFL season, Seau continues to be a force, evidenced by his 26 tackles, four passes defensed, an interception and a sack.

Woodson is tied for the NFL lead in both interceptions and fumble recoveries with three each. He returned an interception 82 yards for a touchdown in last week's win over Tennessee, surpassing Hall of Famer Emlen Tunnell as the NFL's all-time leader in interception return yardage (1,340).

End Mike Rucker of the Carolina Panthers was named as the NFC Defensive Player of the Month. He had a club-best five sacks, third-most in the NFL, 21 tackles and 12 quarterback hurries. Rucker tied a club record with a three-sack performance in Carolina's 21-14 win over Minnesota.

Kicker Ryan Longwell of the Green Bay Packers and punter Chad Stanley of the Houston Texans were the NFC and AFC Special Teams Players of the Month.
