Colorado 10, Florida 3

DENVER, May 16 (UPI) -- Mike Hampton allowed four hits in eight innings and Bobby Estalella capped a six-run first with a three-run homer as the Colorado Rockies coasted Thursday to a 10-3 victory over the Florida Marlins.

Hampton (2-5) held the Marlins hitless over the first five innings. The lefthander walked five and struck out six, allowing three runs. It was his seventh win against Florida in eight career decisions.

The Rockies jumped on Marlins starter Julian Tavarez. Juan Pierre bunted for a hit and Juan Uribe sacrificed before Larry Walker doubled in the game's first run. Todd Helton walked and Todd Zeile and Todd Hollandsworth delivered RBI singles to make it 3-0. Estalella hit his fourth home run of the season to cap the outburst.

Tavarez (1-3) allowed 10 runs and nine hits in four innings. It was his first career start against the Rockies in 17 appearances.
