Los Angeles 3; Cincinnati 2 (14 inn.)

LOS ANGELES, May 3 (UPI) -- Adrian Beltre's single to right field knocked in Shawn Green in the bottom of the 14th inning Thursday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers outlasted the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2.

Green led off the 14th with a shot off Luis Pineda (0-2) down the third base line and beat Aaron Boone's lengthy throw.

After Scott Sullivan relieved Pineda, who was feeling dizzy and weak, Green reached second on a groundout by Eric Karros.

Following an intentional walk to Marquis Grissom, Beltre hit a 1-2 pitch to right, where Ruben Mateo narrowly missed making a diving catch. The ball scooted past the prone Mateo, allowing Green to safely cross the plate and end the pitchers' duel.

Both teams had multiple splendid pitching performances. Odalis Perez allowed two runs over eight innings for the Dodgers before Eric Gagne, Paul Quantrill, Omar Daal and Giovanni Carrara (1-0) pitched six hitless innings of relief. The Dodgers did not allow a baserunner after the ninth inning.

The Reds' Elmer Dessens yielded two runs in seven innings before Scott Williamson and Danny Graves pitched five innings of three-hit relief.

Paul Lo Duca plated Dave Roberts with a single in the bottom of the first to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.

After Barry Larkin tied the contest with a sacrifice fly in the third that scored Jason LaRue, Lo Duca hit a leadoff home run in the fourth to make it 2-1.

Adam Dunn tied the contest with a leadoff homer in the sixth.

Los Angeles snapped Cincinnati's seven-game winning streak at Dodger Stadium, dating back to 2000.
