San Francisco 11, Chi White Sox 6

TUCSON, March 19 (UPI) -- J.T. Snow homered in his first three at-bats and Tsuyoshi Shinjo also homered as the San Francisco Giants pounded the Chicago White Sox, 11-6, Tuesday.

Snow hit homers in the first and third innings off Jon Rauch (0-1) and in the fifth inning off Mike Porzio, helping the Giants build a 9-1 lead. He was retired in his final at-bat after driving in five runs.

Shinjo hit his first homer of the spring. Rich Aurilia had three hits and scored two runs and Felix Escalona had two hits and two RBI for the Giants, who collected 17 hits off four pitchers.

The beneficiary was Livan Hernandez (1-1), who gave up six runs and 13 hits in seven innings, striking out six without a walk.

Jeff Urban and Felix Diaz each tossed a scoreless inning.

Rauch gave up seven runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. Porzio gave up two runs and four hits while retiring four batters.

Kenny Lofton had three hits and Sandy Alomar and Jeff Liefer homered for the White Sox, who had 14 hits.
