Philadelphia 9, NY Yankees 2

TAMPA, Fla., March 11 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell hit a grand slam in the seventh inning and Mike Lieberthal had a solo shot in the eighth Monday night as the Philadelphia Phillies posted a 9-2 victory over the New York Yankees.

Jimmy Rollins had three of the Phillies' 12 hits but it was Burrell's blast that highlighted a five-run seventh. Philadelphia added single runs in the eighth and ninth, including pushing across an unearned run against New York closer Mariano Rivera in the ninth.

Phillies starter Brett Myers, one of the jewels of their farm system, allowed a run and two hits over four innings. Brandon Duckworth followed and allowed a run over three innings.

Yankees starter Orlando Hernandez allowed two runs and four hits in three innings. Adrian Hernandez followed and surrendered two hits in three innings.

Allen Watson was tagged for four runs, retiring just two batters. Both homers came off Yankees setup man Mike Stanton.

Derek Jeter went 2-for-2 with an RBI for New York.
