LA Lakers 94, San Antonio 91

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 27 points and Shaquille O'Neal had 25 points and 15 rebounds Friday night as the Los Angeles Lakers won their sixth straight meeting with the San Antonio Spurs, 94-91.

The win ended the Lakers two-game slide and since the arrival of coach Phil Jackson prior to the 1999-2000 season, Los Angeles has yet to record a three-game losing streak.

O'Neal hit the second of two free throws with six seconds left to push the Lakers' advantage to 94-91. Following a timeout, San Antonio's Terry Porter missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer from and Los Angeles' Robert Horry grabbed the rebound.

The Lakers defeated the Spurs for the second time in seven days. Last Saturday, Bryant scored 17 of his 28 points in the second half as the defending NBA champions overcame O'Neal's absence to beat San Antonio, 98-81.

On its way to winning a second straight NBA title in June, Los Angeles swept San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals.
