Dec. 11 (UPI) -- This is one instance when lying on a job application might have actually prevented someone from getting in trouble.

An 18-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested for theft and underage drinking after he stole two bottles of pink champagne from 7-Eleven store in Manchester -- and apparently forgot that he had accurately filled out a job application with his name and address prior making off with the bubbly.

While he was in the store, Chandra Gajmer allegedly filled out the application and then tried to steal the bottles and leave.

Police were forced to put their detective skills to the test by getting his name off of the application and then tracking him down.

When asked if Gajmer’s job application process went well, a police officer responded: “No, it definitely didn’t.”
