Nov. 15 (UPI) -- A California sheriff's office shared video of a deputy rescuing a bear cub he found trapped inside a trash bin.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office posted a video to Facebook showing Deputy White lowering a pallet into the container for the cub to use as a ladder.

The young bear successfully climbs out and runs off, presumably to find its mother.

"With several bear and cub sightings around Lake Tahoe over the past few weeks, we'd like to remind you to please remove food from your cars, and keep your cars and homes locked, to avoid fluffy, four-legged burglars," the sheriff's office said.
