Car being towed by RV struck by train in Arizona

By
Ben Hooper

June 13 (UPI) -- A car being towed by an RV in Arizona was struck by a train when the driver was unable to pull forward far enough to get it off the tracks.

A video of the incident about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Flagstaff shows the RV stopped at a Route 66 traffic light while towing the car, which ends up on the railroad tracks.

The oncoming train is unable to stop and the RV is unable to pull forward before the much larger vehicle approaches and strikes the car, knocking it loose from its towing apparatus.

The car travels a distance down the tracks as it is dragged and smashed by the train.

No one was inside the car at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported.
