Nov. 2 (UPI) -- A Welsh zoo where a lynx escaped last week said the big cat has been photographed near the facility, but continues to elude capture.

The Borth Wild Animal Kingdom, near Aberystwyth, said a zoo official spotted Lillith the lynx in the woods near the facility on Tuesday and photographed the cat washing herself.

Lillith has been on the loose since escaping last week.

The zoo said a team responded to a reported sighting Thursday, but it turned out to be a "false alarm."

Officials said they are keeping the zoo closed until Lillith is recaptured and they are encouraging members of the public to steer clear of the property.

"The search is continuing. Please be patient and avoid the area around us as she is close by the zoo and we don't want to scare her away," the post said.
