July 11 (UPI) -- Workers at a Massachusetts airport shared video of a squirrel that found its way into a plane's engine compartment and refused to leave.

The video, filmed at Beverly Regional Airport, shows workers attempting to remove the squirrel from the engine compartment of a small plane that was preparing for takeoff.

"We were checking on a squirrel that had hidden itself in our aircraft hangar at Beverly Regional Airport," the filmer wrote. "When we spooked him, he ran out toward one of our airplanes and attempted to get inside with our new customer. When he failed, he jumped up into the engine compartment. That's when the video started rolling and then we tried to prod him to leave the aircraft so we could fly. His focused, repeated attempts to gain access to the plane were beyond our belief!"

The video shows the squirrel eventually jump out of the engine compartment and make repeated attempts to leap into the passenger compartment before fleeing the scene.
