Gov. Chris Christie sculpted from sand on New Jersey beach

July 6 (UPI) -- A group of New Jersey sand sculptors crafted a larger-than-life likeness of Gov. Chris Christie as seen in his now-infamous beach photos.

TheBikiniBoys -- described in their Instagram bio as "Just a couple of guys who wear bikini t-shirts and build sand sculptures together in Seaside Heights, N.J." -- posted photos and a video to the social networking site showing their latest sculpture: Gov. Chris Christie lounging on the beach next to a shark.

The sculpture appears inspired by aerial photos snapped by NJ Advanced Media during the weekend, when Christie was seen visiting the beach with his family after closing state beaches to the public due to a budget-related state government shutdown.

"Overweight and over budget," the sand artists wrote on Instagram.
