June 5 (UPI) -- Wildlife officials in a Pennsylvania city attempted to capture a bear seen wandering near a Kmart store, but their tranquilizers just caused it to nap in a tree.

Police and officials with the Pennsylvania Game Commission said the bear was spotted Sunday in Feasterville and fled up a tree when pursued.

Wildlife officials shot the bear twice with tranquilizers, but it just ended up sleeping in the tree rather than falling to the ground.

The Feasterville Fire Company said the bear was still in town Monday and had climbed another, even higher tree.

Officials said they are familiar with the bear, which previously made appearances in Doylestown.

It was unclear whether the bear was the same animal punched in the nose by a business owner who found the bruin lurking outside of his door in Buckingham last week.
