June 5 (UPI) -- Police in a Colorado city said a resident checked her security camera after an apparent burglary and discovered the culprit was actually a piano-playing bear.

The Vail Police Department said a resident contacted authorities May 31 to report her home appeared to have been broken into while she was away.

A responding officer found evidence that the culprit was actually a black bear that came in through a kitchen window while apparently searching for food, and the resident was able to confirm the identification of the suspect, which police said was successful in stealing food from the freezer.

The footage shows the bear wandering around the home and even taking a break to play the resident's piano while gazing out the window.

"The chords captured on video were unbearable and the tune was equally grizzly," a report on the City of Vail's official website said. "Although officers searched the area, the suspect is still at large."
