Ralph and Alice, the Canada geese named after characters from the sitcom The Honeymooners, have nested near the hospital every spring since 2005 and this year laid six eggs in a flower pot near the emergency room doors.
"Security has definitely been on their toes keeping an eye on them," hospital spokeswoman Kathy Niver told the Omaha World-Herald.
One egg did not hatch and despite security's best efforts to monitor the baby geese some of the chicks managed to escape the flower pot.
"It is a big flower pot and one of the chicks fell out," Inglish Camero, vice president of patient care services, told Inside Edition.
One of the chicks went missing and after several more began to fall out of the pot, Nebraska Game and Parks suggested staff remover the chicks from the pot and help escort them to a nearby lake.
"Security used a car to block the traffic as they crossed the road," Camero said. "It will be less stressful around here now because [Ralph] was getting kind of mean."
The chicks have been under careful watch since they hatched and hospital staff have begun thinking up names for the newborn goslings.
"One co-worker thought we should name one of them Ryan Gosling," Camero said.
