Man skis more than a mile downhill on just his boots

March 7 (UPI) -- A man who suffered a ski malfunction on an Idaho slope ended up taking the rest of the mile-long trip downhill sliding on just his boots.

A video posted to YouTube by FlyThere Air shows skier Michael Reed tackling the slopes in the resort city of Sun Valley.

Reed appears to be taking a perfectly normal ski down the hill -- except for the fact that he's carrying his skis on his shoulder.

"I'm using my boots!" Reed can be heard telling the person filming the video.

The filmer said Reed went more than a mile downhill on just his boots after the bindings on his skis broke.
