March 6 (UPI) -- Security officers at a Tennessee airport made an unusual seizure when a rolled-up bag of marijuana was found hidden inside a cane.

The Transportation Security Administration said officers at McGhee Tyson Airport in Alcoa searched a passenger's belongings and discovered the cane was doing more than merely helping its owner balance on their feet.

The marijuana was seized and the incident was reported to local police, the TSA said.

"We're looking for dangerous items, not drugs," the TSA said in posting a photo of the cane to Instagram. "When we find them, we have to report it to local police. We can't help but find drugs when they're packed in places where things shouldn't be. This marijuana was discovered inside of a cane at Tyson airport (TYS)."
