March 2 (UPI) -- Security agents at Detroit Metropolitan Airport seized salt and pepper shakers from a passenger's carry-on bag because they were shaped like grenades.

The Transportation Security Administration said in a post on its official Instagram page that a Detroit passenger had to continue on their flight without their salt and pepper shakers due to their resemblance to replica weapons.

"If your food is a bit bland, you could add some flavor with these stylish salt & pepper shakers fashioned after the M-118 grenade. Just don't bring them on the plane...these were discovered in a Detroit (DTW) carry-on bag," the post said.

TSA guidelines ban bringing replica explosives in both carry-on and checked baggage.
