Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Utah transportation officials closed a stretch of interstate to allow a herd of migrating elk to run across the roadway safely.

The Utah Department of Transportation announced Monday morning Interstate 80 was being temporarily closed at Lambs Canyon to allow crews to escort the elk out of harm's way.
