"There was this almighty crash and bang -- it was so loud and scary and noisy," Bill McConnell told Ten Eyewitness News. "This object burst though our bedroom window- we didn't know what it was, to us it was just an object."
Norma McConnell told 9 News she "heard the incredible crash and saw this big, brown mound in front of me."
The couple said the kangaroo jumped on their bed before hopping quickly down a hallway.
The kangaroo eventually left the house through the open back door, but not before Bill McConnell snapped a photo to prove their marsupial encounter wasn't just a tall tale.
"It's not a very good photograph, but it does show it was in fact a kangaroo and we aren't making this story up," he said.
