The kangaroo turns to face the man and instantly unleashes a flurry of punches and kicks toward the man, who is able to easily dodge the small marsupial's blows.
Nixon said a keeper told him the kangaroo wasn't actually trying to hurt him.
"The keeper told me they love to be stroked," the man wrote online. "When she was trying to kick me he said that she was just playing and this is how young kangaroos spar."
