EDMONTON, Alberta, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- A nearly monthlong search for a missing iguana in Canada came to an end after the nearly 5-foot long lizard was returned to its home.

According to Global News, Gaylord the iguana was discovered underneath a neighbor's home after going missing in August.

"I'm really happy to have my boy back. It's been a long month, exhausting, searching every day pretty much," owner Mary-Ann Holm said.

Holm worked to coax Gaylord from underneath the deck after learning of his whereabouts from her neighbor and said he was mostly in good shape.

"When I picked him up he was like a block of ice, freezing cold. But otherwise looked fine. No injuries," she said. "I was amazed, really. It's been quite cold so I was starting to wonder if he'd survive and he did."

Gaylord will return to a slightly different situation at home, as Holm adopted another iguana during his absence.

Holm told the CBC she fears having a total of three iguanas in the house will cause territorial disputes, but hopes someone can take care of her newest arrival.

"Now I find myself with three iguanas and not really wanting to send this fella back to the pet store," she said. "But I have a few lizard-related friends who really like him, so I'm sure I can find him a really good home if I were not able to keep him here."
