MONTREAL, July 13 (UPI) -- A Canadian man invented a new sport he calls "drone bowling" -- but the first-ever round of the sport was nearly foiled by the wind.

David Freiheit of Quebec posted a video to YouTube showing how his concept for drone bowling was nearly a failure due to the wind blowing over the target -- a pyramid of empty cans.

Freiheit's second stack of cans met the same fate, falling before the drone even launched.

The third try proved to be the charm, and the can pyramid remained standing until it was struck by Freiheit's drone.

"A self-explanatory new sport: Drone bowling! Kind of a delicate set-up that took a few tries, but it was well worth it," he wrote in the video's description.
