A police officer and two citizens in Crystal, Minn. narrowly escaped tragedy when an oncoming truck nearly hit them while speeding down the shoulder of a snowy highway.

The truck can be seen speeding along the shoulder of the snowy highway as Crystal police Lt. Underthun tends to an earlier accident.
The officer and two citizens narrowly escape the vehicle's path and avoid being hit by the speeding truck.
No one was hurt in the incident but the police department joked that the encounter would likely keep Underthun alert through the rest of the day.
"On the plus side, Lt. Underthun won't need any coffee now this AM - he's definitely awake," they wrote.
