Truck nearly hits Minnesota police officer

CRYSTAL, Minn., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- A police officer in Minnesota had a near miss with a box truck after the vehicle went speeding by on the shoulder of a snowy road on Tuesday.

City of Crystal police department shared dash cam video of the incident on Facebook.

The truck can be seen speeding along the shoulder of the snowy highway as Crystal police Lt. Underthun tends to an earlier accident.

The officer and two citizens narrowly escape the vehicle's path and avoid being hit by the speeding truck.

No one was hurt in the incident but the police department joked that the encounter would likely keep Underthun alert through the rest of the day.

"On the plus side, Lt. Underthun won't need any coffee now this AM - he's definitely awake," they wrote.
