KANSAS CITY, Kan., May 1 (UPI) -- A Kansas man is feeling lucky to be alive after he was viciously attacked by two dogs outside of his home on Monday.

Riley Carter Jr. of Kansas City was able to escape from the boxers by biting one of them in the neck and then climbing over a railing onto his front porch.

"I had to actually hold him up and stand him. I bit him behind his neck just to hold him there. Just held him there until I got exhausted and trying to fight off the second dog at the same time," Carter told KCTV. "I thought I was actually going to die in the front of my house.”

According to Carter, he bit down on the boxer so hard, that he was still brushing dog hair from between his teeth the following day.

“I knew I was going to die because I was giving up as I had the other dog in my mouth,” Carter told Fox4 KC. “Any more and they would have killed me. I had just enough.”

Carter suffered injuries to his arm, thigh and groin. A piece of his nose was also bitten off.
