EDMUNDS, England, July 2 (UPI) -- The owner of Britain's smallest pub said he had to ban a 6-foot, 7-inch customer from peak hours because he takes up too much space. Jack Burton, owner of the 15-foot by 7-foot Nutshell pub, certified by Guinness World Records as the smallest in Britain, said he had to ban Adam Thurkettle from the Bury St. Edmunds, England, establishment during peak hours because he takes up too much room, The Sun reported Tuesday. Advertisement "Adam's a real gentle giant. But on a busy night he takes up such a lot of space that I have to turn away at least four normal-sized drinkers," Burton said. Thurkettle, a tree surgeon who has to duck to get inside the pub, said he understands the restriction. "My size is a great advantage when moving tree trunks but can be a handicap when I prop up the bar," he said.
