LA CRESCENTA, Calif., March 16 (UPI) -- Police in California are warning residents of a neighborhood to be cautious after a bear seen raiding a garage refrigerator made three return trips to the area.

Joey Ball of La Crescenta said he was awakened around 3 a.m. Wednesday by noises coming from his garage, and he went out to find a black bear eating tuna and meatballs from his refrigerator, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported Friday.

"He had steam coming out of his nose, and he had food on his face," Ball said. "It was crazy!"

The bear was spotted three more times in the neighborhood, Wednesday evening, Thursday morning and Thursday night.

Glendale police said officers went door to door in the neighborhood to remind residents to lock their doors and steer clear of the bear.

Wildlife officials said they are not yet taking any action against the bear because it has not acted aggressively.
