Local man Jeff Gordon, who took first place Sunday with a time of 17 minutes, 43 seconds, said he ran the race to celebrate his Scottish heritage and bring attention to the kilt, which he described as an under-appreciated garment, The Seattle Times reported Monday. Advertisement "I'm glad to bring attention to a noble cause," Gordon said. The Rev. Alicia Grace of Seattle's University Unitarian Church said she was glad to run in the race while on sabbatical from her church. "There are many ways to celebrate life and each path is to be honored," she said of the race.
