Officials said the building, which is now called the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, was closed Monday to acknowledge the library being closed on the day of its formal dedication, May 23, 1911, The New York Times reported Monday. Advertisement The officials said the original dedication was attended by President William Howard Taft and civilians were first allowed into the building the following day.
