Advertisement On the jazz research and publishing front... -- The Hal Leonard Corp. is just out with "The Vince Guaraldi Collection," which contains nine piano transcriptions. They include material from Guaraldi's best-selling Fantasy CDs "Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus" ("Outra Vez," "Manha de Carnaval," "Cast Your Fate to the Wind") and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" ("Linus and Lucy," "Christmas Time Is Here," "O Tannenbaum"). -- Tom Lord has completed the final volume of his jazz reference work "The Jazz Discography." The 14-year project cataloged more than 100 years of recorded jazz from 1896 to through the present. The complete work occupies 26 volumes that each exceed 600 pages. It includes data on 136,263 recording sessions, covers 24,351 bandleaders and lists more than 1.5 million musician and tune entries. The complete work will soon be made available in Version 3.3 of its CD-ROM format.
