The Regime is created, written and executive produced by Will Tracy, who also serves as showrunner. The series is directed by Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs.

Winslet plays the Chancellor, an authoritarian leader who struggles to maintain control of her crumbling European regime.

The power-hungry character develops an "infatuation" with Corporal Zubak (Schoenaerts), a soldier known as the "butcher."

Andrea Risenborough, Martha Plimpton, Guillaume Gallienne and Hugh Grant also star.

HBO shared a teaser trailer for the show in December that shows Winslet's character recruit Zubak.

The Regime is a limited series that premieres March 3 on HBO and Max.

Winslet previously starred in the HBO series Mildred Pierce and Mare of Easttown.
