Marti Noxon of 'Mad Men,' 'Glee' fame lands new deal at Netflix

Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Marti Noxon, an Emmy-nominated writer producer and director who has worked on Mad Men and Glee, has earned an multi-year, overall deal at Netflix.

Noxon will be producing new programs exclusively for Netflix with the streaming service receiving a first-look option on her feature projects, the company announced on Monday.

Noxon will be serving as a producer on her Netflix output through her production company Tiny Pyro. The president of Tiny Pyro, Maria Grasso, has also moved to Netflix.

Noxon was a creator-showrunner on Sharp Objects, Dietland and the first season of UnREAL. She has also previously worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Grey's Anatomy in addition to Mad Men and Glee.

Netflix highlighted its excitement for Noxon's arrival on Twitter Monday by posting a photo of the television creator.

"Who can resist the allure of Netflix?" she said in a statement. "Not only do they continually produce ground-breaking and visually stunning content, they've developed a platform that's so influential its become a verb. I Netflix at home, happily, and now I'm even more excited to Netflix for a living."

"Her work is often both brave and vulnerable, with a distinct voice, sense of humor and tone that is uniquely her own."
