Filming begins on Season 2 of Pierce Brosnan's ranch saga 'The Son'

Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Production on Season 2 of The Son has begun in Austin, Texas, AMC announced this week.

Joining the cast for episodes to air in 2018 are Lois Smith, Glenn Stanton, David Sullivan, Duke Davis Roberts, Alex Hernandez and Jeremy Bobb.

Returning for Season 2 are Pierce Brosnan, Jacob Lofland, Henry Garrett, Paola Nunez, Zahn McClarnon, Jess Weixler, David Wilson Barnes, Sydney Lucas, James Parks and Elizabeth Frances.

Kevin Murphy is the show-runner for the adaptation of Philipp Meyer's novel about multiple generations of a Texas ranching and oil family.
