'The Mist' won't return for a second season on Spike

Sept. 28 (UPI) -- The Mist, the small-screen adaptation of Stephen King's novella, will not return for a second season on Spike.

Variety reported the supernatural series' cancellation Wednesday. The show starred Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Washington, Jr. and Frances Conroy.

Spike announced plans this week to rebrand the cable station as The Paramount Network as of Jan. 18. It said in a press release its 2018 lineup will include the celebrity competition series Lip Sync Battle; new dramas Waco and Yellowstone; and comedies Heathers and American Woman.
