May 16 (UPI) -- This is Us stars surprise fans in a first teaser for Season 2. The promo sees Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown and Chrissy Metz -- who play Rebecca, Jack, Randall and Kate Pearson -- greet viewers with hugs after listening to their emotional stories.

NBC released the trailer at its upfront presentation Monday in New York. Production on Season 2 has yet to begin, although the network announced Sunday that This is Us will move from Tuesdays to Thursdays in the fall.
"We think This is Us is a show that's peerless at the moment in broadcast television and we decided to move it to Thursday night," NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said. "Our hope is to create the return of Must See TV."
This is Us immediately connected with fans following its premiere in September. NBC renewed the series for two more seasons in January ahead of its Season 1 finale.
"This is Us is as good as anything we've ever had, we're thrilled to renew it for two seasons and there's no doubt it will have a long life on NBC," NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said at the time.
