'Orange is the New Black' Season 5 to premiere June 9

Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Netflix says Season 5 of its prison dramedy Orange is the New Black will premiere on June 9.

The stars of the show -- including Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, Taryn Manning, Lea DeLaria and Elizabeth Rodriguez -- recently won the Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series honor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony.

Brooks told The Hollywood Reporter the fifth season will consist of 13 episodes and will take place over the course of three days.

"It will be very detailed, very intense, and you better get ready," Brooks warned. "Get your popcorn, your tissues."
