LOS GATOS, Calif., Dec. 13 (UPI) -- A missing blind woman can see again in the first mysterious trailer for Netflix's latest drama, The OA.

The surprise clip, released Monday, stars Brit Marling (The East) as a woman who went missing for seven years who attempts to recount her journey and learn how her vision has returned.

"I didn't disappear. I was present for all of it," Marling states as footage is shown of the woman jumping off a bridge.

The bizarre trailer then continues with a series of action and dreamlike sequences that only further the mystery as Marling's character is seen walking along a deserted field.

Adding to the suspense, Netflix tweeted before the trailer's premiere "Have you seen death? Have you seen darkness? Have you seen the light?"

The OA, created and written by Marling along with Zal Batmanglij, also stars Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead), and Emory Cohen (Brooklyn). The series is set to premiere on Netflix with an eight-episode first season on Friday.
