LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- French star Elodie Yung will return as Elektra on The Defenders.

The 35-year-old Daredevil actress confirmed she'll reprise the character in a tweet Monday after the new Netflix series released a promo featuring Yung as the Marvel mercenary.

"I can feel her heartbeat... #elektra #defenders," she wrote to her 32,000 Twitter followers.

Yung debuted as Elektra in Daredevil Season 2 and appeared to die on the season finale. The character is a highly-skilled assassin and the love interest of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), aka Daredevil.

The Defenders will center on Daredevil (Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones), aka Iron Fist. Marvel television regulars Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn and Rachael Taylor will also return as Claire Temple, Stick and Trish Walker.

Yung showed her support for the larger Marvel universe by attending the Los Angeles premiere of Doctor Strange in October. She was accompanied by Jonathan Howard, who played Ian Boothby in Thor: the Dark World.
