Farrah Abraham offends with photo of daughter in bikini

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Farrah Abraham is facing backlash after posting a controversial photo of her daughter.

Social media users slammed the 25-year-old Teen Mom OG star Sunday on Instagram for promoting the MTV series' new season with a picture of 7-year-old Sophia posing in a bikini.

"I have a nine-year old daughter I would never ask her to pose like this. It's horrible you should be ashamed," one person wrote.

"This promo for the show doesn't look right," another added. "It's like she's promoting her daughter for the show as the next Teen Mom. That's the first impression I got."

Abraham faced similar criticism in June after she shared a photo of Sophia in swimwear and full makeup from a photo shoot. The reality star discussed her daughter's burgeoning modeling career in an interview with Us Weekly last week.

"[I] keep it fun," Abraham said. "I don't really feel like I need to go grab an agent because somehow we have it set up like, 'Oh, we know these people -- it's cordial.' I don't want her being around weirdos and under pressure."

"There really is no rush," she added. "If Sophia has awesome opportunities that come to her, which we do, it is really just about picking and choosing what we want and what we want to make time for."

"People can say whatever they want about me, but I have to say as a mother, I am so damn proud of how everyone just raves about my daughter," the star admitted. "She is so amazing and so ready for this."

Abraham shares Sophia with her late ex-boyfriend, Derek Underwood. The reality star has appeared on five seasons of Teen Mom, aka Teen Mom OG, which will return for a sixth season Aug. 22.
