'Sister Cities' with Stana Katic and Jacki Weaver to premiere on Lifetime Sept. 17

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The screen adaptation of Colette Freedman's stage play Sister Cities will have its television world premiere Sept. 17 on Lifetime.

The New England-set film stars Jacki Weaver, Stana Katic, Jess Weixler, Michelle Trachtenberg and Troian Bellisario.

It tells the story of "four estranged sisters who reunite to mourn after their mother's passing, only to discover a secret that could tear them apart," a press release said.

The ensemble also features Amy Smart, Tom Everett Scott, Alfred Molina and Kaia Gerber. The film was directed by Sean Hanish.
