Lucas Till to star in 'MacGyver' re-boot pilot

LOS ANGELES, March 22 (UPI) -- Lucas Till has landed the title role in the pilot for CBS' contemporary re-imagining of the classic TV show MacGyver.

Variety said it confirmed the casting of Till as MacGyver and Joshua Boone as his best friend Gunner Monday.

Richard Dean Anderson played the resourceful scientist/government agent Angus MacGyver on the original show, which ran 1985-92.

Till is known for his roles in X-Men: First Class and Hannah Montana: The Movie. He will soon be seen in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Boone's credits include Fan Girl and Downtown Girls.
