'Orange is the New Black,' 'Kimmy Schmidt,' 'Grace and Frankie' get return dates

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Netflix has announced the 2016 premiere dates for its slate of returning and new original programs.

Season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, starring Ellie Kemper as a woman trying to start a new life in New York City after 15 years in a cult, is to debut April 15. The show co-stars Jane Krakowski, Tituss Burgess, Lauren Adams, Sara Chase, Sol Miranda and Carol Kane.

The sophomore season of Grace and Frankie will be available for streaming May 6 with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin back as women whose lives are turned upside-down when their husbands, played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, reveal they are gay and leave them for each other. The ensemble also includes Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, Baron Vaughn and June Diane Raphael.

The prison dramedy Orange is the New Black will kick off its fourth season June 17. The show features Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne, Laverne Cox, Dascha Polanco, Michael Harney, Danielle Brooks, Taryn Manning, Selenis Leyva, Yael Stone, Nick Sandow, Samira Wiley, Lea DeLaria, Jackie Cruz, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Adrienne Moore.

The Ranch, a multi-camera comedy set on a contemporary, Colorado ranch, will start up April 1. It reunites former That 70s Show co-stars Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, while Sam Elliott and Debra Winger round out the ensemble.

The French political drama Marseille, starring Gérard Depardieu and Géraldine Pailhas, will premiere May 5.

Stranger Things, a 1980s Indiana-set, supernatural mystery featuring Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Matthew Modine, is to premiere July 15. Written and directed by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, the program starts with the vanishing of a young boy.

The Get Down -- filmmaker Baz Luhrmann's ode to the Bronx in the 1970s -- will start streaming Aug. 12. The music-driven drama stars Shameik Moore, Justice Smith, Herizen Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jimmy Smits, Giancarlo Esposito and Jaden Smith.
