NEW YORK, March 17 (UPI) -- Jokes about Paul Walker's death made at the taping of Comedy Central's roast of Justin Bieber will not be included in the show's broadcast, the cable TV network has announced.

Comedy Central disclosed its decision after many people who attended the event, including Bieber and Walker's longtime friend Ludacris, were reportedly upset by attempts by comedians Jeff Ross and Pete Davidson to mine the tragic event for laughs. Walker died as the passenger of a fiery car crash Nov. 30, 2013. He was 40.

"Roasts often push the limits of good taste and we give the participants full rein to try things knowing we have the edit to shape the show," Comedy Central said in a statement. "Sometimes the line is discovered by crossing it. The Paul Walker references will not be in the telecast."

Walker will be seen next month in the action picture Furious 7, which he had been working on shortly before his death.

Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, the Bieber roast is to air March 30.
