Garth Brooks will take over 'Today' show Jan. 8

Brooks will perform from his ninth studio album "Man Against Machine."

NEW YORK, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Country music superstar Garth Brooks is to appear throughout all four hours of the Jan. 8 edition of the Today show in New York, NBC announced.

Brooks will perform from his ninth studio album Man Against Machine, which was released in November and is currently No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album Chart.

The morning program airs weekdays 7-11 a.m.
