James Franco, Martin Freeman and Amy Adams to host 'Saturday Night Live'

Nicki Minaj, Charli XCX and One Direction have been booked as musical guests on the sketch comedy show for December.

NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Film stars James Franco, Martin Freeman and Amy Adams will be the last three guest hosts on Saturday Night Live this year, NBC announced Thursday.

Franco, who will soon be seen alongside Seth Rogen in the feature film The Interview, will appear on the Dec. 6 edition of SNL when the musical guest will be Nicki Minaj.

On Dec. 13, Martin Freeman will make his hosting debut. His movie The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, the final installment in the blockbuster Hobbit trilogy, hits theaters Dec. 17. Charli XCX will be the musical guest on Freeman's episode.

Amy Adams will close out the year as host Dec. 20 when One Direction provides the music for the show. Adams' latest film Big Eyes is due out in theaters Dec. 25.
